Nayara Resorts: A Luxe Escape in Costa Rica
If lush vegetation, magical vistas and the sounds of nature are your idea of an extraordinary vacation, then the Nayara Resorts in La Fortuna is definitely worth checking out. Nayara offers three resorts to choose from: The Springs, The Tented Camp and The Gardens. All of these resorts are connected and all accommodations are gorgeous.
We stayed at The Tented Camp and The Springs for our honeymoon and we would go back in a heartbeat. Both of the properties we stayed at offered gorgeously decorated, oversized, private casitas complete with private plunge pools that were filled from natural mineral hot springs. The accommodations also boasted a luxury bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a private outdoor deck, and, if you are lucky, a view of the famous volcano in the distance.
There were a variety of restaurants and bars to choose from (our favourite dinner was at Asia-Luna ) , wildlife walks and a full-service spa that is out of this world. The resort also offered us a complimentary laundry service, complimentary snacks, and room service was available.
Although you could walk from property to property, the resort is huge and on a steep incline so you probably would not want to do so in heels or after a few too many glasses of champagne. We often relied on a golf cart to take us where we needed to go, getting one was easy.
The property is close to the main part of La Fortuna where you can easily see the waterfall and explore the quaint town. The concierge can arrange lots of amazing day trips and adventures.
While we did see a few children, most of the people we met were couples, celebrating milestones. The vibe was upscale, romantic and serene.
Nayara is a magical place, and I can’t wait to return. The only drawback is the long commute from the airport (about 3 hours), often through winding, unpaved roads. Bring Gravol, it’s worth it!

In July, we were surprised there were no mosquitos around and it was not overly hot. Since prices are lower in the summer, it is worth considering.
